CM: OC and L

~Detective Gee~

She had made it. It has taken her years, two psychology degrees, and some time on the force, but it didn't matter she was here. L was taking her meeting and possibly accepting her as a new member to the force. And on this dreary afternoon, she walked down the empty streets that could downright hide many secrets, to finally reach the destination. She looked down at the address:

734 W Shunjuku st.

Yep, this seemed like the unknown area of downtown. Personally, she knew that the change of locations would be a new experience for her, but the moment that she knew that he was here working against Kira, she decided she would make herself known to take interest. So she and Johnny immediately took the first flight out of Hokkaido to head towards Kanto region of Japan.

As she reached the door, she knocked on it, almost childishly. No one opened and she frowned.

Was it a prank? Better not be  she thought growling.

Then she heard the turning of a camera and looked up to see it staring right down at her.

"Name" the voice box said

"Gee Pendragon" she said.

"Come in"

The doors then opened and she quickly walked in, looking around immediately towards her surroundings. Her first thought was, that she was standing out a little too much.

Way to go Gee, first day and you already look like a freak. L won't take me seriously if I don't look professional.

She frowned, but decided there was nothing she could do. For one thing, she had a skirt, that in this workplace looked inappropriately short and with a bold zipper on her hip, and her red tank didn't cover her stomach. The thing that did cover her top was her fishnet mesh top that lead towards her gray skirt. She decided that the stares…she wouldn't really care about. She was twenty four, and she was not going to revert back to her old self in high school. She had worked hard and she was not going to shy away just because she looked different than the average look. So as her boots made more noise than necessary, she was met with a young man that was waiting for her with a folder on his hand.

"G-gee Pendragon?" he asked.

"Yup"

"I'm Matsuda, come with me, I'll take you to L"

She couldn't help but let out a small smile at the idea that she was there! As he led her towards the elevator she began to think about just what she was going to say. How would she act? Well it depended on how he was going to act around her, she decided. But how would he be? How would she react because of him? She was going in circles she decided.

"Hey" she said out loud. "I have a question for you Matsuda"

Matsuda looked surprised but nodded quickly awaiting her question.

"What's L like?"

Matsuda let out a small chuckle and ran his fingers through her hair.

"He's…..he's…interesting?"

She tilted her head not really expecting that answer.

"What?"

"Okay well….he's very quiet, and prefers to be alone. Um….he…he loves sweets, and takes interests in the weirdest of things. He's very introvert, and sometimes can seem cold, but he's a good boss."

She nodded and decided that his definition as to who is L suited her greatly. She thought of herself as an introvert person as well, so it didn't really bother her to deal with him.

"Thanks" she said after a moment of silence.

He nodded.

Soon the doors opened and they entered the computer room where it seemed like no one was around. It was a very cold atmosphere, very chilly, and she nearly chastised herself for not wearing a sweater. In one room, there was a large wall simply devoted to TV screens  with the Kanto region in all those screens. The others were filled with desks that were currently unoccupied, and it seemed that L was nowhere in sight.

"Okay…have fun!" Matsuda said after a bit of silence.

She was about to protest, but he was too fast, and immediately ran towards the elevator. He simply waved as the doors closed. She was left alone, with no one around her, and L mysteriously missing.

She decided that if he was missing, she'd simply look around. Her attention was grabbed by the big TVs in front of them, that showed people going about their day. She admitted that this was a little weird.

"Jeez, this is a little too Big Brother for my taste" she sniggered as she touched the keyboards softly.

She looked at the cameras and decided she wanted to know what else they showed. Before she could even move anything, a cold hand was placed over hers. She let out a high pitched scream and turned to come face to face with grey-black eyes.

He was so close to her. His eyes seemed empty at first, but she noticed that they held a spark of curiosity. His hair was a messy black that had thick strands that were all over the place. It was almost too long, but it worked. His skin was so pale, beautifully pale, that complimented his dark hair perfectly. She liked those features. Before long she felt herself blushing at the fact that he was too closer to her, their noses practically touching.

"Do not touch my equipment, do you understand Miss Georgia?" he muttered.

His breath touched her lips almost in a teasing way. She thought he was doing it on purpose, but he was no longer looking at her, instead at his monitors, as if analyzing if anything else was moved.

"O-okay" she whispered.

He looked back down at her, oblivious to the lack of space and tilted his head.

"Must you stutter?" he asked.

"W-what?" she said confused.

"So you do stutter, how annoying"

"No! I mean…I mean…it's your fault!" she blurted out.

"My fault? Interesting….how is it my fault?"

"You're too close! You're in my personal space"

He looked down and noticed her flushed expression. So it seemed that people cared about how close a person got to them. Interesting…he'd have to remember that.

"Very well then" he said and moved back allowing her space once more to control herself.

She felt her heart beating quickly and so hard that it was ringing in her ears. Her face was warmer than she expected, and her hands were clammy.  She wondered what was wrong with her, especially when she felt somewhat cold now, as if she was missing something.

She paid no heed to that little voice in her head that told her it was much more than she realized and instead tried to act professional. She fixed her glasses and cleared her throat.

"So let me tell you about myself" she began trying to act professional.

"I already know all about you Georgia Shidou…..thought I admit that your alias is fine." He said "My question is, why should I hire you? How do I know that you're more than just some fanatic?"

She glared and with no hesitation replied.

"I believe in justice! Actual justice, by the law, and not by some demented sociopath who believes he knows what's right or wrong! I've worked hard and have my degrees to not be a simple fanatic who worships you. I work hard, and I deserve to be treated as an equal and vital member."

He simply looked at her and she felt that she had pushed it too far. Well….that was another job she didn't get. She sighed and before she could even leave she heard something she wasn't expecting.

"You're hired"

She let out a wide smile and she did something that seemed abnormal. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly. He was surprised and simply stayed still waiting for it to end.

"Sorry" she said and let go of him shyly.

"It's fine"

She knew that this was her second chance. She was no longer a cop, now she was Detective Gee, and she knew she was going to be the variable that would help L win Kira, she had to be.
